Introduction

Introduction

Brow lifting is often necessary in conjunction with facelifting to raise a droopy brow. The typical S-lift facelift helps raise the lateral brow but to get the medial brow up a thin incision needs to be made across the top of the head. The muscles, which pull the brow down and cause furrows between the eyebrows, are also weakened during the procedure. Hair usually grows well at the incision site so it is hard to ever find the old scar. Endoscopic brow lifts are not as effective even when using fixation devices like screws or threads.

If your brow is low it crowds your eyelids and make you look as though you have a scowl. This is unattractive. Your brow can be lifted to unload your upperlids and uncrowd the eyes! Your forehead can be smoothed! In some patients this is of critical importance to getting a great natural looking restoration. I repeat, in some patients this can be the most important procedure they need!! There are two methods - "endoscopic and open", to release the muscles which cause forehead furrowing and brow ptosis. In both cases the procedure is much easier than you've probably been lead to believe. I will discuss with you your various options.
